From ancient music to the latest contemporary creations, Pablo Heras-Casado has a passion for all kinds of repertoire, from works for chamber orchestra to grand opera. Recently appointed Principal Conductor of the Orchestra of St Luke’s, Pablo Heras-Casado has just completed an intense and brilliant 2011/12 season featuring significant debuts with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, the New World Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. His opera collaborations include Teatro Real Madrid, La Monnaie in Brussels, English National Opera, Opéra National de Paris and the Canadian Opera Company. His most recent debut was at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden directing a new production of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore.
In 2011, Pablo Heras-Casado began a close collaboration with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. They toured in March 2012. Pablo Heras-Casado also regularly conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony.
Future appearances include the Lucerne Festival with the Lucerne Festival Academy and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, a debut at the Salzburger Festspiele (with Klangforum Wien) and debuts with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
