MAY NEW RELEASES NOW AVAILABLE

Volume 4 of the Beethoven Piano Sonatas is the culmination of Paul Lewis's highly-acclaimed series and has already received an Editor's Choice from the newly-published Gramophone. "Like me, you may well cherish your beloved sets by Schnabel, Kempff and Brendel, but Lewis surely gives you the best of all possible worlds; one devoid of idiosyncrasy yet of a deeply personal musicianship."

The Jerusalem Quartet, fresh from their triumph at the BBC Music Magazine Awards now release one of the finest of all string quartets, Schubert's Quartet No 4, Death and the Maiden. "The colours are dark but vivid, the narrative beautifully controlled, the blend impeccable, the Andante sublime, the Allegro and Presto positively terrifying." The Independent.

harmonia mundi's first DVD since Giulio Cesare is the Innsbruck Festival production of Don Giovanni. The CD version released last year was Gramophone Recording of the Month, Classic FM Magazine Disc of the Month, Classic FM Disc of the Week, Daily Telegraph Classical CD of the Week and a Times Album of 2007.

Following the success of his last release, The Last Concertos of Mozart, a CD Review Disc of the Week, Andreas Staier goes solo in a programme of early Bach. "...a faultless touch from Staier maintains sonorous good tone, an agility across the keyboards worthy of any organist, and characteristically fast fingerwork...the excitement is hair-raising." Gramophone

Scattered Rhymes, a new work by young British composer Tarik O'Regan, is inspired by Machaut's Messe de Notre Dame and coupled with further works by O'Regan and Machaut, Dufay and Gavin Bryars.
