At the crossroads of the Baroque in Europe. Froberger was born in Germany but was influenced by the style of the Italian organists and French lutenists of his time as well. There where he went beyond their influence and indeed outpaced them all was in his works for harpsichord, where he reveals an unusual sense of the dramatic – we have only to listen to his tombeaux and the lamentations to see just how far he carried this.
This title was released for the first time in 1992.
