If the Leçons de Ténèbres by Charpentier, Couperin and Lalande are very well known, rare are the musicians who dare confront those by Michel Lambert because of the mystery, to say the least, which surrounds the sources. It has now at last been accomplished on the occasion of this first collaboration as a soloist by Marc Mauillon with harmonia mundi. Author of a previously unseen reconstitution, he is today revealing with brio the very first Leçons in the history of the service of the Tenebrae in France. An intense experience, backed up by a continuo as complicit as it is exceptional.
