To reveal the glory of Cistercian chant, Marcel Pérès visited the churches characteristic of the Cistercian aesthetic: the Fontfroide and Sénanque abbeys are distinguished by their unique acoustic qualities that greatly amplify the harmonics produced by a single voice, without involving the artifice of polyphony.
