Prior to becoming the object of adulation in England (to the point of forgetting to 'return home'), the young German composer Georg Friedrich Handel spent a dazzling three years in Rome, Naples, Florence, and Venice. The recordings featured under this rubric are all testimonies of the young musician's extraordinary artistic development between 1707 and 1710, just before his brief return to the court of Hanover.
