To show that there is life beyond the operatic stage, we have chosen some select works intended for (or related to) the theatre in all its non-(entirely)-operatic forms: ranging from the Medieval mystery to Bertolt Brecht, from the English ‘semi-opera’ to the Molieresque comédie-ballet, music and theatre have been inseparable for centuries.
